Almost an entertaining game last night for the all-star game, until it drug on for 6 extra innings. The national league did everything they could to prevent the win. Some really good plays actually at home plate. Dan Uggla should be rewarded the MVP for the american league, as he tried his best to lose the game for the national league.
We do have a few WNBA games today, and British Open discussion as well as tomorrow’s baseball talk. Whatever you got, throw it up! Good luck!
Hit the under in the all-star game, but I am really surprised that the american league won again in the end. Lost my parlay and my play on the national league. I played it very small, as it is an all-star game, but still. Sucks! You are right tsb, boring game. I didn’t bother to watch the extras. Just found out this morning
I feel ya TD. That does suck.
To pass the time today, I am posting my mid-season baseball awards here. If you guys have your picks, throw yours up here too!
AL MVP – Josh Hamilton. With 21 Home Runs, 95 RBI’s, and a batting average of 310, along with a winning record for the Rangers, there is no other choice right now. The Rangers are only a few out of the wild card, and not a single person would have put them in this position at the start of the season. Nod also goes to Carlos Quentin of the Chi Sox as runner-up.
NL MVP – This is definitely more up in the air right now. I give this to Ryan Howard at mid-season, but I see no reason why Albert doesn’t get this in the end. He has had about 70 less AB’s than Howard, and is batting 350. In the end if he stays healthy (that is a big if), Albert will win this again. For now, it goes to Howard.
AL Cy Young – Closers don’t get this nod too often. At the mid-point of the season, this award has to go to K-Rod of the LA Angels. Breaking the mid-season mark of saves with a solid ERA gets him this, and if he breaks the record and keeps a solid ERA, he should get this at season’s end. However, I see Halladay, Lee & Saunders hanging in there all season.
NL Cy Young – Tim Lincecum. Edinson has had a great season so far, but on a far shittier team, Tim has 11 wins, and has had to go deeper into games. Lincecum has also been money for all of us this season, so I give him the nod here.
AL Fuck Up (biggest disappointment so far) – Richie Sexson. Could there be another choice? When the worst team in baseball release you, there can be no other. The entire Seattle team is in this category really, but he ranks at the top. Props also go to Gary Sheffield & Ian Kennedy
NL Fuck Up (biggest disappointment so far) – Andruw Jones. Again, a no brainer. What a waste of money. Most people knew that Andruw could not hit for average anymore, but you can’t blame his 53 games that he did play on injury. He just flat out sucks. There are no other candidates for this title. It goes to Andruw (Sorry RT)
Let me know what you guys’ thoughts are!
Free WNBA Play
Atlanta Dream (+11) vs Indiana Fever & Under 148
No doubt Atlanta is the worst team in the WNBA. But with only two games today, both day games, and 90% of the public on the Fever, we have to stick with the Dream again to show up today big, and a much smaller play on the under 148, along with a small parlay of the Dream and the under 148!
On a 15 minute break but thought I would let you know that I am playing that wnba play. I think you guys turn it around today, and I liked that play too. Not into wnba, but today what choice do I have? GO DREAM!!!!!!!! I need some $$$$ back!
My quick mlb picks:
I agree with you Scott on your MLB picks except for the AL Cy Young. Has to go to Lee right now. Rodriguez is on a team that barely wins games, but keeps on winning. Put Nathan on the Angels and he has 35+ saves too. Just my opinion. Andruw Jones is the worst player ever to wear our uniform. As a fan, I hope he somehow turns it around, but I think you are right, he is horrible…
WINNER!!!
Amazing. Yeah, I lost the under, but our big play was the dream, and that is what counts big!! Maybe this will start our turn around for us! About time we hit a winner guys!
Jizzle – where you at buddy? Glad you picked it up RT, hope you played the dream big!
Back from lunch, and come back to a winner!!!!! I played the under for quite a bit less, so I turned a nice profit!!! Thanks for the play guys! See you tomorrow for baseball and $$$$$$$$$$$$$

Also – there are some British Open golf plays posted by Danny in the golf thread. Thanks! I like the Garcia play, and also could see Adam Scott doing well, and took him at 22-1 to win, and 4-1 to place top 5 this week. Funny to see Sergio as the odds on favorite to win when he continues to choke on Sunday and looks like Phil when putting from 3 to 5 feet under pressure when in contention…
