UFC 84 – Make Your Picks Here!

This coming weekend’s UFC 84 will be one of the best in quite a while. With such a great card, we want to hear your thoughts and predictions for this upcoming match. We have been on fire in the last 5 UFC’s, and are 15-6 over that span with many of those 16 being dogs with good value. Good luck, and lets here your thoughts!

Alright UFC 84. Finally a decent card we are all paying for. I was nice enough to stop by and drop 2 losers on you all last night LOl. (Hornets and over)

But in the UFC I do have some great knowledge of fighters that not all have heard of. One of my best friends competed on TUF 5 so I have gotten the chance to learn more and meet some great fighters.

Usually when it comes to any type of fights there isn’t much money to be made because the fav is usually like -500 or more. So I will post some “good value” picks. Not saying they are sure winners ok, just great values. I’m taking them all as I see them as winners but play as you will….....

UFC 84

Tito Ortiz +160. Great value for an Ortiz fight. Havent seen much of him lately as there is always a running fued between him and owner Dana White. Untill White finally says F it and gives him he money. Machida is a tough tough fighter but we all know Ortiz’s boring a** style of wait, wait some more, then wait again, ground and pound. Short elbows in mount, cut em and either finish it or make the gash so bad it is stopped. I know the UFC wants to make a push for Ortiz to regain popularity again cause he is a money maker and even with the purchase of Pride there are so many new company’s coming in stealing talent, ie, Mark Cuban, Affliction, Elite XC (side note; possible Kimbo Slice Mike Tyson fight in the works!!!)

Sean Sherk+190. Ok the dude is roided out. Exactly why I like him LOL. This is more about my dislike for BJ Penn than anything. Although Sherk was the lightweight champ and hasn’t fought in a while he is definately the stroger of the 2 with BJ being the more skilled. Both good ground games, BJ’s being great as his flexibility lends nicely to the octagon. Make your pick. Speed and power vs. Brazilian ju Jitsu and its finest. I’ll take Sherk at almost +200 for a bill and hope its his night. i think it might be. BJ hasn’t shown me much lately.

Keith Jardine +130.what do we know about Wanderlei Sylva, he’s tough. What do we know about The Queen of jeans keith Jardine, he may be tougher. this underdog in every fight just keeps putting together solid efforts. Ask Forrest Griffin, one of the toughest UFC opponents (got knocked out) and Chuck Liddell, we all know Chuck. (also lost by decision, I think was dominated) Sylva has not shown he is comfortable yet with the UFC after a long Pride carreer. Fighting is fighting you say? Not really, the Octagon is a whole new thing to get used to and Jardine is a master of using the cage to his advantage. this may be the bloodiest fight of the night and I honestly was pissed, being a Chuck and Forrest fan, when Jardine whipped up on em both. but now he’s got my respect, not that he needs it.

All in all it is very rare to me to see a card with, on paper, what should be extremely good and even fights. These are 3 +$$$ fights that have a great chance of coming through.

I will be back closer to fight time if I see any undercard fights that have good value, this is where I rely on my TUF 5 buddy for guideance, he knows the trainers, styles and everything a little better than I do, as he should.

I know we haven’t hit UFC 84 but in UFC 85 jump on Mike Swick and Brandon Vera both at -115 before the lines can be effected. they WILl move.

And one last thing. If anyone out there is new to betting UFC or new to the sport in general there is a great site called www.sherdog.com. I think the best fight site out there. they have fighter finder where yo ucan put in anyone’s name and see there record, who they fought, how they won, pictures, interviews, training styles, everyhting. Always beware when someone is cutting a lot of weight. I’d much rather take the guy that has to pack on some pounds to go up a class than go down, they get winded easily. Alright enough of my jabber.

Good Luck!

I am liking Ortiz in what is probably his last UFC fight. Good value as well. Gotta go with Sylva though over Jardine. Good luck!

We have a HUGE, make the GINORMOUS UFC 84 card tonight. Here are two solid plays, that just missed our top 4.

WILSON GOUVEIA -155 Goran Reljic…..Experience vs. hype. Veteran vs. rookie…Ok you get the picture. Wilson Gouveia is a bit of an enigma. The guy is top 5 Heavyweight talent, yet he hasn’t quite put it all together. He trains with one of the best teams in the world. Reljic comes in with a ton of hype due to his highlight reel finishes. However, who has he beaten? No one the caliber of Wilson, that’s for sure. We expect a dominant performance from the well rounded Gouveia. Take him at the relatively small price of -155.

YOSHIYUKI YOSHIDA -185 Jon Koppenhaver….Again, experience vs. hype. Veteran vs rookie….Same deal. No way a TUF alumnus who wasn’t anything special is going to take out a veteran assassin. This isn’t Nintendo Yoshi we are talking about. Yoshida comes into this fight in fine form, and he clearly will dominate the young Koppenhaver tonight. Koppenhaver fights far better in the streets than he does in the Octagon. Take Yoshida who ends this fight in violent fashion.

We have 4 other fights on our card tonight! Jump on board and enjoy UFC84 tonight from Lost Wages. Good luck!
